Ideas worth spreading: Two girls against plastic
If you want to restore your faith in humanity watch this TED Talk featuring two young girls from Bali. They are traveling around their country talking to anyone who will listen, to start a plastic bag ban.
Plastic pollution is a widespread problem that all countries will soon face. Over 30% of plastic produced ends up in rivers, lakes, estuaries, and oceans, causing environmental, social, and health problems. There are estimates that, at the current rate, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans by 2050.
Even though Melati and Isabel are very young, they have some background. They study at one of the most prestigious schools in the world, known for its environmental consciousness. The Green School is built to create tomorrow's Global Environmental Leaders, and these girls are just that!
They are very engaging and persuasive. An inspiration showing that we can do so much more for the environment.
